Hoca is a tool that converts a user-uploaded PDF into an educational video or audiobook with synthetic voice and an animated pointer. Hoca is a tool, not an independent content producer; the user bears all legal consequences of the generated output.
By registering with Hoca or creating a job, you accept these Terms of Service, the Privacy Policy, and the Acceptable Use Policy.
You must either be the rights holder of all PDF content and voice samples you upload, or have valid permission to use them. Uploading someone else's book, lecture notes, slides, or voice as your own content is prohibited.
If the "I confirm I am the rights holder" checkbox on the job creation form is left unchecked, the job will not be created; if checked, your attestation is recorded as Job.ownership_attested=True in the audit log.
The .wav file you upload for voice cloning must be either your own voice or the voice of a person from whom you have obtained explicit consent. Use for deep-fake, identity impersonation, fraud, or non-consensual erotic / demeaning content is prohibited.

To delete your account, send a request to legal@hoca.example.com. Within 30 days all of your data (credits, jobs, voice samples, non-audit rows) is deleted. Audit log records may be retained for 365 days where required by law.
Changes to these terms are announced by email or in-app notification; continued active use implies acceptance of the new version. Past versions are kept in the repository as LEGAL/terms-vN.md.
